Icicles that hang straight down in perfect parallel follow me home from the snow Next to the warm fireside they still don’t melt away.   I see them, out there, playing in the foggy snowscape. I see them, in here, basking in the glow of a warm fireside. The icicles surround me Just enough for my hand to reach through,   but not so much that I can reach through to catch a snowball, or to catch an ember Hope, The most painful torture of them all. I stand here, frozen, seeing hope through the icy slats But it gets colder,                                  And colder, Until the icicles blend into one… Minus a small hole

The sole luminary of the night sky, Glows warmer, more brightly as time passes by. Playing hide and seek, peeking through the clouds, Wispy, and translucent, much like a shroud. Ascending much higher into the night Everything glows with a heav'nly blue light. Brighter than the stars that twinkle above Inspiring that which dreams are made of. A moonlit stroll along the beach, on the sand. I'm glad to be here, just holding your hand. ____ Inspired by an astronomy lab I did a few weeks ago, we stared at the moon through an 8" dobsonian telescope.  so beautiful!
